Coding vs. 'Pick-N-Drop'

Starting off with raw coding within Dreamweaver, plus getting to grips with it in a meaningful way, has been quite an experience. So I was ‘all up in arms’ and ready to take on WP, when the opportunity became available. However, I was quite surprised when founding out from a little birdie  by the name of Rino (LivingWithPixels), that there is actually a much more easier way to manage my WP site – ManageWP (managed by GoDaddy since 2016) and I have not been dissapointed, not even once with this resource.

Using ManageWP

Starting off with three simultaneous projects,  required logging into each one of the sites; constantly going back and forth amongst the different sites! But with ManageWP, I have just the one login to  gain access to all sites in one place – problem solved! (e.g.  from optimization, backup, google analytics and the list goes on). I also recently found out that I can go into ManageWP multiple times into the same site even with the dashboard within WP open. Yes, it sounds weird but I have had to result to this due to a bug that I experienced in WP that automatically logs me out whilst working on ‘responsiveness’ within my pages – anyone experienced this? if so, drop me a line as to what you did to resolve the problem. Maybe I might be doing something wrong – still drop me a line, would love to know.

My Take on Elementor Pro - (so far)?

One thing has become quite clear, yes there are numerous applications out there on the market that you can simply ‘pick-n-drop’ and hey presto you have a beautiful responsive  site or you can simply pick a lovely template and just substitute. Now, that I have decided to try out something that is not pure coding but also at the same time is not fully ‘ready made’, elementor appears to be just what I need.

Maybe you are new to WP or use both coding applications and WP, I would love to hear of your experiences so feel free to share. About  a month into using  WP, I decided to try my hands with Elementor ( I started first with the free version) just to see what all the fuss was about and very quickly I realized how much of a positive difference it makes to my site design but to really tap into its potential would definitely require me to  invest in the pro version.

Now roughly three months into using the pro version, the ‘the sky is the limit’  –  from adding extra functionality to structuring real site responsiveness e.g. a real interesting one is that of constructing the responsiveness of an iPad Pro mobile device (story for another blog).

Well, that’s all for today, remember I blog my thoughts on not just my thoughts regarding design strategies but also my personal experiences  during ongoing projects.  Also, don’t forget to subscribe to my blogs so you get notifications ready in your inbox!
